The story so far . . .
May Wah is at the forefront of standard and quality for
Chinese meals in
Eastbourne.
Established in 1964 when the family first moved from Hong
Kong to England to
work in and open their first Chinese restaurant. May Wah led
the way in
becoming the first Chinese take-away to introduce home
delivery over 18
years ago, if not in the UK, certainly in Eastbourne.
The two Tsang brothers were trained by their parents in
traditional Chinese
cooking which encompassed the western style - hence the
Chinese take-away.
The Chinese people in the trade named it 'chop suey style
cooking' - a style
of Chinese cooking that is unique to England.
Our road to success! Not yet! We are only starting on the
long road ahead
which means that we continue to be the premier (and in our
customers opinion
the best) Chinese take-away in Eastbourne. This has been
founded on the hard
work of the parents, their guidance to the brothers and
their determination
to succeed coupled with the patience and understanding of
their ever
diligent wives and families. This is May Wah in the making.
May Wah led the way in 1997 by investing the most modern and
hygienic
kitchen that was available - this included the second
generation of cookers
with water cooled systems, top of the range walk-in cold
rooms and freezer
rooms, fridges with chilling open tops and stainless steel
in all areas that
are regularly cleaned set a shining example for others to
follow.
The latest venture be encompassed under the May Wah banner
is the provision
of our very own off-licence - obtained from the local
authority this will
allow the customers to have both their meal and alcohol
delivered to their
home. This is an added service which enables our customers
to have the
perfect evening at home and this is May Wah's aim. Watch
this space!
